National Lottery, Milli Piyango, is now owned by country’s state. According to Turkish media, it looks like it’s on its way to be privatized probably on next month, August following the good progress with the procedure.
The procedure is going to formally begin following an endorsement of a statement on monetary regulation by the government, and it is expected that a ten year license is going to primarily be given to the hotshot candidate operator. Koc Group, Dogan Group, Cukurava Group and Is Yatirim are among the Turkish companies known to have expressed interest, together with off-shore groups such as OPAP (Greece), GTech- Lottomatica (Italy-USA), Essnet-Tattersall (Sweden), Scientific Games (USA), Camelot (UK), Intralot (Greece), Austrian Lotteries (Austria) and Sisal (Italy).

The procedure is for 17 % of profits to be awarded to the successful bidder whereas 3 % is going to be provided to the Authority of the National Lottery.

The Turkish National Lottery holds a 32 percent market split in Turkey with a yearly income of US$ 683 million and US$ 189 million in net income.
