Not surprisingly the New York Mets and New York Yankees are front-runners as odds makers predict a second subway series in six years. Odds of the Bronx Bombers meeting the Mets in the World Series are 5-2.
Postseason baseball is here and Sportsbook.com has posted the betting lines on which teams will win the pennant race.
The San Diego Padres will face the St. Louis Cardinal for the second straight year. Although this time, the Pads' are the favorite in the series as the Cardinals are the 4-1 NL underdog.
The two top offensive teams in the National League will be squaring off as the Mets, who own the top spot on the odds chart at 6-5, will be facing off against the NL Wildcard Los Angeles Dodgers in what could be one of the toughest division series in these playoffs.
Alex Czajkowski of Sportsbook.com, said, “This year's playoffs are bound to keep baseball fans and bettors on the edge of their seats as this postseason is chalked full of heavy hitters and great pitching.”
The Yankees will be in search of their 40th pennant and the favorite from the American League are a 5-7 bet. Facing the pinstripes are the AL Wildcard Detroit Tigers, who will be making their 11th appearance in postseason and sit at 3-1 on the odds chart.
Rounding out the AL pennant race are 3-1 Minnesota Twins, who will have homefield advantage to start the series hosting the 4-1 Oakland Athletics at the Metrodome.
