With the recent financial downturn in Greece, the government is searching for a perfect way to increase income flowing into the country so that they are able to pay off the huge amount of loan and say goodbye to debt.

Whilst there still remain some problems to solve previous to authorizing online casino games, the government is set to license and control the online sports betting business. Unfortunately, it won’t take place to well after the World Cup, and maybe the beginning of 2011. Apparently, Greece is going to draft legislation that is comparable to France or Italy where there are firm conditions for gambling operators to start catering online gambling to Greek citizens.
