The news has emerged as both as a shock and a surprise that William Hill will be closing 20 of its Irish retail stores when Christmas is at the doorsteps.
All the employees at the William Hill are now anxious as of who will be redundant after the Christmas holidays. Subsequent to the New Year the company will decide as of which shops are to be closed and how many people are to lose their jobs.
Estimation is that about 85 people would have to search for jobs in the upcoming year at Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Tralee and Wexford after the right sizing made by the company.
The employees at the casino will be offered employment wherever possible. However, the authorities have not guaranteed that every employee will be accommodated and offered jobs.
Staff will be offered alternative employment wherever possible, although William Hill could not guarantee that everyone could be accommodated.
William Hill also stated that the other 50 shops in the Northern Ireland will not be affected by this action.
William Hill made a statement "The shops selected for closure have not been trading profitably for some time, in spite of the efforts made by William Hill to return them to profitability."
