As reported on Online Casino News earlier this month, Mansion Poker has been offering $100,000 a day in its online poker tournaments in an attempt to revive interest in the firm.
Mansion Poker has admitted that its four-year £34 million sponsorship deal with English Premiership football club Tottenham Hotspur has failed. In reaction to this, the online casino, endorsed by Sports911.com, has since undertaken aggressive promotions for the company, reportedly to counteract the financial burden.
Downsizing personnel towards the end of the last year gives further reason to believe Mansion Poker is continually struggling to make an impression on the market. But while the company appears to admit its attempt to enter the English Premier League sponsorship world was a mistake failing to bring in sufficient new custom – it fervently denies any rumours suggesting the website may significantly down-grade or shut down entirely.
Rumours have since circulated that the company will be shutting down its Gibraltar based online service, but these have been disregarded by the firm as ‘unsubstantiated’, although the company is directing a shift of strategy. Mansion is believed to be concentrating on a joint venture with Les Ambassadeurs, a UK land-based casino also owned by Putera Sampoerna.
