According to latest news, Gambling Commission has focused its attention on the ever-increasing habit of UK people. It is observed that eight percent of UK adults have dabbled in at least one form of remote gambling in the last month.

National Lottery happened to be the most popular version of remote gambling according to the published report of ‘Survey Data on Remote Gambling Participation’. More than five percent of respondents had a remote gamble session on the lottery in the last month.

After National Lottery, the second preferred version was Online poker having two percent respondents. Betting ranked at the third place having slightly fewer than two percent respondents.

Most favorite form of all remote gambling was the computer, laptop or handheld devices. Gambling via mobile phone, digital TV was also very popular. Maximum numbers of gamblers were in the age group of 18 to 34.

“This new series is an important part of the Commission’s monitoring. The figures reflect the uptake of new technology with people choosing to gamble via the Internet as well as through mobile phones and interactive television”, commented Peter Dean, chairman of the Gambling Commission.
